FRIDA (PERSSON) NELSON, 86, of Unionville, died at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in the Morrison Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Bethesda Lutheran Church, preceded by a 1:45 p.m. prayer service for the family. Rev. Charles Kern officiated and burial was in Grove Hill cemetery. Frida Persson was born January 14, 1888 in Mjallby, Sweden, the daughter of Nels and Bengta (Johansen) Persson. She was educated in Sweden and moved to the Morrison area in 1905. She was married July 21, 1907 in Morrison to Ben Nelson. He died July 6, 1966. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church and was active in the various ladies organizations of the church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Arians of Morrison; Mrs. Evelyn Swedberg of Sycamore; Mrs. Lawrence (Gladys) Stern of Rock Falls; and Mrs. E. Neal (Dorothy) Templin of Aurora, Colo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charlie Nelson of Rockford. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Florence, in infancy; three sisters, Hilda Olson; Julia Lind; and Selma Gunnerson; and three brothers, Fred, John and Lee Nelson.
